I will be participating in the Animal Humane Society's 2008 Walk for Animals. With five Twin Cities locations, they care for more than 36,000 unwanted, abused and neglected animals each year.

If you would like to support me with a donation, click "Support Me" button above the thermometer or "Make a Gift" below the themometer. Our efforts will help make a big difference!

Even better, if you would like to join my team, come for the walk and feel free to bring a 4-legged friend. The more the merrier!

I walk in honor of you.

Cayenne

Cayenne is the apple of my eye. From sunrise to sunset, and all the hours in-between, she keeps me cozy and entertained. With purrs and snuggles and hide-and-seek and fetch, Cayenne never misses an opportunity for love and fun. Her gentle nature and chatty personality often fool people, including myself, into thinking she might be a doggy disguised as a kitty. Yet, no matter her shape or form, I'm hers for as long as she'll have me.

While I did not adopt Cayenne from the Animal Humane Society, we were united through an equally wonderful organization. The group had seen to her medical needs and provided her with love and attention as she raised a litter of boys and saw them off to special homes. I thank these groups that are made up of warm-hearted people for providing us with the precious gifts that warm our hearts.

I walk to honor your memory.

Bailey

The late Mr. B. was an extraordinary character, he was almost bigger than life. His genuine enthusiasm and persistent drive to meet and love everyone put smiles on his family's faces. He lightened our hearts. Bailey was everything I dreamed a dog to be, with maybe a heavy emphasis of mischief and trouble, but an extra dose of love. 8 years of memories - watching him grow from a ball of fluff to proud and eager campanion - fill my thoughts and heart. Losing him was one of the hardest times in my life which is explained by how much he was loved and treasured in life. Somewhere in doggy heaven, Bailey holds the missing pieces of our hearts.

While my family adopted Bailey through a breeder, we were fortunate to learn that our breeders were the founders of a local dog rescue group called Rescue a Gold of Minnesota (RAGOM). Like the Animal Humane Society, this group has a wonderful staff and exceptional supporters that can turn a sour situation into gold. Any group with the mission to better the lives of animals is a blessing in my eyes.
