Step up for the Animals
David, Collin and I will be participating in our fifth Walk for the Animals sponsored by the Animal Humane Society on May 4th. This is the 39th Annual Walk for Animals and is the largest event of it's type in the United States!
Why we walk
We started doing this for our cat, Whiskers who lost her battle with cancer three years ago. And now we are also walking for Suzette Pearl, our gray tabbey who was adopted from the Golden Valley Location and crossed the Rainbow Bridge this February. We wanted to do something to honor their memories and to help other animals like them from the Animal Humane Society have a chance at a great life! If they werent adopted by us - odds were not great that they would have been adopted and possibly would have been euthanized to make room as kitty season was approaching. Our remaining cat, Pepper also came from the Humane Society and our second Puggle; Lotus was a puppy mill rescue and benefitted from some of the services offered by the AHS. She wouldn't be the great dog that she is today without their services.
Here's an example of what your donation today can do:
$10,000: Supports the operating expenses of the Woodbury location for six days.
$5,000: Helps fund a cruelty investigation and animal rescue
$2,500: Provides medical supplies and medications for 41 spay/neuter surgeries
$1,000: Gives housing and care to 67 animals in the shelter for one day
$500: Helps three dogs through Adoption Prep programs which readies shy/fearful dogs for adoption
$250: Provides X-rays for two injured animals
$100: Provides sterilization surgery for two puppies
$50: Two stray cats receive full vaccinations
Any amount: Helps Animal Humane Society respond with kindness for animals in need
