Parking and shuttle buses
How are we bringing 10,000 people and 5,000 animals to the 2013 Walk for Animals? In working closely with the Golden Valley Police Department, a new and safer traffic plan has been designed which will also cause less confusion than ever before, but we need your help to follow the signs. Don’t be part of event congestion.
New this year: For traffic management and overall safety purposes, only authorized vehicles will be allowed to turn northbound on Meadow Lane from Highway 55 on Saturday, May 4th. If you have not been given an authorized parking voucher, you will be turned away to park in one of the 5 off-site parking lots, where there are plenty of spaces and parking helpers to flag you into spaces. If you park in a residential area that has No Parking signs posted for Walk Day, you will be tagged. No exceptions per the Golden Valley Police Department
For general parking, you must park in 5 off-site parking lots and take the free shuttle bus service to the Walk grounds. No parking vouchers are required for these five lots. Shuttle buses run every 15 minutes starting at approximately 7:30 a.m. The shuttle bus will deliver you and your pet to and from the fun. Pets are welcome on the shuttle buses. Please remember to keep all critters under control and dogs on a short lead. All animals must have up-to-date vaccinations and rabies shots and must be under the control of an adult or have direct adult supervision.
